In addition to the health related benefits of universal health care it also creates many improvements in the U.S economy. It has been shown that the economy would benefit from health care demonstrated by "... by providing better access to preventative care worker productivity would be increased by limiting smaller issues into developing into larger issues"(Tennant). Universal healthcare would keep workers healthy and able bodied to work which would later lead to them having less time spent away from work. This would benefit the economy in how with more goods produced by workers the price of these goods would decrease and make it easier to buy necessities. The prevention of major epidemics through universal healthcare also leads to economic benefits "... with the improvement of healthcare systems epidemics like flu could be resolved in a much more rapid and less costly plan of action"(Newman). Many of us have heard the expression that time is money and in the case of epidemics that can be very true. The more quickly we can solve and stop an epidemic the more money the nation saves battling it, also the lived saved are a major fact held by this.
