First of all the impact of universal health care is the increase in health and overall life expectancy. Research from Thailand states that "The result of universal health coverage in Thailand has been a significant fall in mortality (particularly infant and child mortality, with infant mortality as low as 11 per 1,000) and a remarkable rise in life expectancy, which is now more than 74 years at birth - major achievements for a poor country"(Sen). This statistic shows that no matter the economic system of a country universal health care has proven to be positive. As such a country can begin to prosper much more as the rate of its citizens mortality decreases. Another example from the American Journal of Public Health states that " Nearly 45,000 annual deaths are associated with lack of health insurance..."(Urban-Klahn). This demonstrates that with universal health care less people would die in the U.S each year and it could improve the nation overall with people living longer. It will also contribute to lower mortality rates for children giving a positive outlook for the future.
